Shwetha Ravishankar

An engineer-turned writer, Shwetha is a free spirit, curious soul, and always brimming with ideas. She grew up in the culturally rich, quiet little city of Mysore, in Southern India. A Content Editor by day, Shwetha's dance journey started at age 6, and she hasn't stopped dancing since. A professional Bharatanatyam dancer and teaches the craft with Aalokam Dance company in New York city. Monotony is not her cup of chai, she believes variety is the spice of life and feels the need to continually learn, evolve and grow. 

She currently calls New York home and lives with her husband Arun and daughter Diya.

Rema Chaari

Born and raised in the conservative and culture rich south Indian city of Chennai, Rema grew up in a household of doctors. Rema is the science nerd with a creative side, a physician and an academic.

Her physician parents inspired her towards medicine as a career choice but also provided formal training in Bharathanatyam (a south Indian traditional dance form) and Carnatic music (a south Indian style of vocals). She fondly remembers singing Thyagaraja Keerthans, every evening with her Dad while playing the Thamboora. She is a self-proclaimed spiritual junkie and a true believer in mind-body and nutritional healing, her current passion is on bridging the gap between the philosophies of Eastern and Western Medicine. 

She currently lives in New York with her husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs.
